Here's what we've done so far...

I told you there was a lot of pruning to do!

It's important to know where utilities are buried before you start digging.
First harbingers of Spring in our gardens -
Galanthus nivalis (Snowdrops). This is right out front of the Cottage.
This is
Mertensia virginicus (Virginia bluebells) at the base of the chestnut in the middle of the back yard. Plus some other things I can't identify yet.
I don't know this one yet, either...do you? (I also have to learn how to take pictures closer up...)
This little volunteer
Aquilegia (Columbine) needs a better home. She's stuck in the middle of the flagstone path that leads from the rear of the cottage.
