Fall/Winter 2010, views of the WCTU local historic district properties in Evanston ("Old Timers Row")

 

  • Large tree has split crotch at base of trunk leaning toward house, with branches overhanging front porch and growing through larch next door
  • 4 shrubs present in front of porch; all need rejuvenation pruning and the two next to the front steps are likely in serious decline


  • Crabapple with crotch growing around flagpole and another branch growing through shrub over fence
  • 3 shrubs of dubious distinction
  •  Spindly rose bush


  • Yews no longer serve any aesthetic purpose and block windows
 
  •   Decent shrub in need of rejuvenation pruning, placed too close to carport with downspout draining at base
  • Mostly barren garden bed

  • No clear pathway for tenants from primary apartment exit

  • Tree stumps left in ground
  • Downspout extension leads toward low ground and contributes to flooding
