Help Us by Getting Involved

Rest Cottage, home of Frances Willard and headquarters of the Women's Christian Temperance Union from 1899 to 1910, offers a one of a kind glimpse into the life of a middle class Victorian family and into a working life of a prominent social reformer.

Since April 21, 1900, when Rest Cottage was officially opened as a museum, it has been largely kept in the condition in which Miss Willard left it. Its unique story tells how Willard's determination and leadership skills mobilized others to help create the first mass movement of women in America.

Maintaining the Museum buildings and collections, the Willard Memorial Library and Archives, and the Victorian Gardens, however, takes resources. The Frances Willard Historical Association needs money and volunteers to maintain the site and keep the Museum growing for future generations to enjoy.

If you wish to be involved with the Willard Museum, there are several ways to assist: See the left-hand panel for further opportunities.
